あまり触ることがないWindows端末のhostsファイルですが、サーバーの移行や、ドメイン以降前のテストサーバーに擬似的にあるドメイン名でアクセスしたい場合があります。

こんなときは、実際のＤＮＳを触る前に、テストに利用しているWindows端末のhostsファイルに、name情報を記述することで、擬似的なドメイン名でサーバーをアクセスすることができます。

例えば、WindowsXPの場合は、C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts を修正します。

上記がデフォルトの状態です。
TCP/IPの自端末の設定のみ存在します。

このファイルに IPアドレス：192.168.1.100→www.fulldigit.net　という記述すると

192.168.1.100     www.fulldigit.net
